Sen. Drilon may hamon na arestuhin lahat ng LP members na sangkot sa planong Pagpapatalsik sa Pangulo 'Tuluyan niyo na!'

Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon dared MalacaƱang to sue Liberal Party (LP) members who are allegedly in cahoots with communists for the ouster of President Rodrigo Duterte.

In a statement Wednesday (October 3), Drilon said MalacaƱang, particularly Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, has the responsibility of filing charges against ouster plotters “because its credibility is at stake for issuing baseless allegations that are later denied by the military.”

During a Senate budget hearing Tuesday (October 2), Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief-of-Staff Carlito Galvez Jr. cleared the opposition, including the formerly ruling LP, of any involvement in the alleged “Red October” plot for the ouster of Duterte.

LP President Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan also told Galvez to report to them any of their members involved in plotting to kick Duterte out of the Palace so they may be expelled from the party.

Despite this statement from Galvez, Roque stood pat on the claim that some LP members are colluding with communists to overthrow Duterte.

“[There is] no inconsistency. I’m sure individual members of the Liberal Party, as the President said, may be in collusion with the CPP-NPA,” Roque said during a MalacaƱang press briefing.

In response, Drilon said, “Roque’s insistence shows that he is merely making up stories to harass the critics of the president and the political opposition.”

“Let me borrow Sec. Roque’s own words. We should not take Roque seriously,” Drilon said.
